Communication Difficulties

A communication difficulty can affect a person's ability to hear, talk, understand, read, write, sign and or gesture.

BID Services provide Visual and Hearing Impairment Support to the residents of Solihull and their families, carers and other supporting organisations. They provide the following services:

  • Social Work
  • Assistive Equipment
  • Rehabilitation
  • Information, Advice & Guidance

You can drop in to BID Services at The Core, Homer Road, B91 3RG on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday between 10am until 2pm or by appointment on a thursday at Chelmsley Wood Library. The Solihull Community Advice Hub team are experienced in dealing with people who have communication difficulties. We also work with other agencies to provide support to people who need BSL Interpreters or Support Workers during their time with us.

ReadEasy are an organisation which supports adults to learn how to read. ReadEasy sessions in Solihull are held at the Solihull Community Advice Hubs in both Central Solihull and North Solihull.
